The **Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card** is one of the more unusual airline credit cards in the U.S. Instead of concentrating primarily on free checked bags or boarding benefits, the Bank of America-issued card can help you earn both **Flying Blue miles and elite-status Experience Points (XP)**.

The current limited-time online offer makes the card particularly interesting: **70,000 Flying Blue bonus miles plus 100 XP after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days**.

Even better, those 100 XP are enough to qualify for **Flying Blue Silver status**.

## Current Offer

The current Air France/KLM offer includes:

- **70,000 Flying Blue bonus miles**
- **100 Flying Blue XP**
- Spend **$3,000 within 90 days**
- **$89 annual fee**
- No foreign transaction fees

One thing to watch: Bank of America's regular card page currently displays a weaker **50,000-mile + 100 XP offer after $2,000 in spending**.

If you're applying, make sure you're seeing the **70,000-mile offer through Air France or KLM** before submitting the application.

## Earning Flying Blue Miles

The card earns:

- **3X miles** on eligible Air France, KLM and SkyTeam airline purchases
- **3X miles** on dining
- **1.5X miles** on all other purchases

The 1.5X base earning rate is better than the standard 1X offered by many airline cards and makes the card reasonably useful for everyday spending.

### 3X Flying Blue Miles on Rent Through Bilt

A newer benefit lets cardholders earn **3 Flying Blue miles per dollar on rent paid through Bilt**, on up to $50,000 in rent annually.

There is an important catch: Bilt currently charges a **3% transaction fee** when using the Air France KLM card for rent. That makes this more like an opportunity to purchase Flying Blue miles cheaply than truly fee-free rent earning.

After reaching the $50,000 annual limit, rent continues earning the normal 1.5X rate.

## The Real Standout: Flying Blue XP

The strongest ongoing feature may be the ability to earn Flying Blue elite-status XP without flying.

Each anniversary year you can receive:

- **20 XP automatically**
- **100 total XP** after spending at least $15,000
- **160 total XP** after spending at least $25,000

Flying Blue Silver status begins at **100 XP**, while Gold requires another 180 XP after reaching Silver. Gold includes SkyTeam lounge access, SkyPriority and additional baggage benefits.

For travelers actively pursuing Flying Blue status, that makes the card much more interesting than its $89 annual fee would suggest.

## 5,000 Anniversary Miles

Cardholders also receive **5,000 Flying Blue miles each account anniversary after making at least $50 in purchases during the anniversary year**.

That is an extremely easy requirement to meet and helps offset a significant portion of the $89 annual fee every year.

## Flying Blue Silver From the Welcome Offer

The **100 XP included with the current signup bonus immediately reaches the threshold for Flying Blue Silver**.

Silver benefits include:

- Priority check-in
- Priority baggage drop-off and boarding
- Standard seat selection
- Some additional seat options beginning 24 hours before departure
- One additional checked bag on eligible SkyTeam flights
- 6 Flying Blue miles per euro spent on eligible flights

These are Flying Blue Silver benefits rather than permanent credit-card benefits, so keeping them requires maintaining the appropriate Flying Blue status.

## Bank of America Application Restriction

Bank of America's current disclosures state that the card **may not be available if you currently have or have had the card during the preceding 24 months**.

That's worth checking before applying, especially for anyone who previously held the older Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard, which transitioned to Visa Signature in 2026.

## Trash Panda Take

The **70,000-mile + 100 XP offer** makes the Air France KLM Visa Signature especially interesting right now.

A $3,000 spending requirement for 70,000 Flying Blue miles is competitive by itself. Adding enough XP for immediate Flying Blue Silver status makes the offer much more compelling for travelers who actually fly Air France, KLM or other SkyTeam airlines.

Long term, the **5,000 anniversary miles, automatic 20 XP, 1.5X everyday earning and ability to earn as much as 160 XP through spending** give the card more staying power than many airline cards with similar annual fees.

The card becomes particularly interesting for anyone pursuing Flying Blue elite status. Travelers who primarily want flexible points may still prefer transferable currencies, but for someone already invested in Flying Blue, there is a lot packed into an $89 annual fee.
