American Express has rolled out strong limited-time welcome offers on two of its most useful Delta consumer cards. The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card is offering **80,000 bonus miles plus a $250 statement credit**, while the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card is offering **90,000 bonus miles plus a $300 statement credit**.

Both offers run through **November 4, 2026**, and the relatively modest spending requirements make them worth a look for travelers who regularly fly Delta.

The Platinum card requires another $1,000 in spending and carries a much higher annual fee, but its ongoing benefits are considerably stronger.

## Key Benefits

Both cards include **TakeOff 15**, which reduces the mileage price of Delta-operated award flights booked through Delta by 15%. They also provide Zone 5 priority boarding, no foreign transaction fees, 20% back on eligible Delta in-flight food and beverage purchases, and valuable checked-bag benefits.

Delta has enhanced the baggage benefit as well. Cardholders continue to receive their first checked bag free on Delta flights, while a **second checked bag is now free on eligible domestic Delta flights**.

The Gold card also offers up to **$100 annually in Delta Stays credits**. After the first card renewal, it adds up to **$10 per month in eligible U.S. rideshare statement credits**, with enrollment required. Spending $10,000 on the card during a calendar year can also trigger a $200 Delta Flight Credit.

The Platinum card adds considerably more. Cardholders receive up to **$150 annually in Delta Stays credits**, up to **$120 annually in rideshare credits**, and up to **$120 annually in Resy credits**, subject to the applicable terms and enrollment requirements.

More importantly, the Platinum provides a **Delta Main round-trip companion certificate each year after card renewal** for eligible domestic, Caribbean, and Central American travel. Taxes and fees apply.

Travelers pursuing Delta elite status also receive **$2,500 in Medallion Qualification Dollars each qualification year**, plus **$1 MQD for every $20 spent** on the card.

## Who These Cards Make Sense For

The **Delta Gold** makes the most sense for occasional Delta travelers who want checked-bag benefits, TakeOff 15 and priority boarding without committing to a large annual fee. With no annual fee in year one, the current 80K + $250 offer gives the card an unusually strong first-year proposition.

The **Delta Platinum** is aimed more squarely at regular Delta flyers. The extra 10,000 welcome miles and $50 statement credit alone don't justify its $350 annual fee, but the companion certificate, Delta Stays credit, Resy and rideshare credits, and MQD benefits can substantially change the equation.

## Trash Panda Take

These are both excellent welcome offers, but the more interesting choice depends on what happens after the bonus.

For someone primarily interested in collecting a large block of Delta miles at minimal first-year cost, the **Gold card is compelling at 80,000 miles plus $250 with no first-year annual fee**.

The Platinum becomes more interesting for someone who will actually use its continuing Delta benefits. In particular, one good use of the annual companion certificate can offset a substantial portion of the $350 annual fee before considering the card's other credits.

One caution: these particular application links are currently displaying the offers described above, but American Express notes that an offer may not remain available if you leave the application page and return later.
