# Marriott Adds 5%-10% Devaluation To Award Bookings

[Doctor of Credit](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/marriott-adds-5-10-devaluation-to-award-bookings/?ref=trashpandatravel.com) has reported that a widespread devaluation has hit Marriott points:

"Unfortunately it looks like Marriott has increased award prices by 5%-10%, as first noted Chinese award booking sites and then by [Loyalty Lobby](https://loyaltylobby.com/2026/07/07/marriott-bonvoy-5-to-10-flash-points-devaluation/?ref=trashpandatravel.com). Some properties have increased prices by more than 10% and some properties have had prices remain the same or decreased. [Marriott moved to dynamic pricing in March 2022 and award charts were removed](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/marriott-removes-award-chart-extends-status-top-off-award-certificates-more/?ref=trashpandatravel.com). The nice thing about having award charts is that it creates accountability and hotel chains used to normally change properties between tiers (in both directions) once a year. "
