New Capital One Venture X User Checklist

Newly approved to the Capital One Venture X card? Do the following:

1. Memorize all of the VISA Infinite benefits. You will be tested later.
2. You can spend immediately upon approval. Add a virtual card to Apple Pay, Google Wallet or use it online. Just go to the Capital One website, click on your Venture X card and select "virtual card" in the upper left part of the screen. This is a nice feature as you can set the card limit, expiration date and even make it single use. If you are dealing with a sketchy website, want to do an initial signup but you don't want to track an auto-renewal or you are booking a hotel room and you don't trust the establishment, this can be the solution.
3. Sign up for rental car status.
   1. Get Hertz President's Circle
      1. Register for your basic Hertz membership Hertz Gold Plus Rewards
      2. Upgrade your status to Hertz President’s Circle status Hertz Capital One Registration
   2. Status match your Hertz President's Circle to Avis President's Club.
      1. Sign up for the Avis loyalty program at Avis.com.
      2. Take screen shots of your Hertz status and email the request for an upgraded to sales.profile.updates@avisbudget.com. Make sure to state that you are seeking a status match and include your new Avis loyalty number.
   3. Status match to National Car Rental.
      1. Sign up for the National loyalty program.
      2. Request an upgrade at https://status.emeraldclub.com/.
4. Use or gift your TSA Precheck / Global Entry benefit.
5. Enroll in Priority Pass through the Capital One app or website and install the Priority Pass app.
6. Add your Venture X as the preferred payment method for your cell phone to add the VISA Infinite cell phone coverage.
7. Add the Capital One Venture X to your Travel Freely account. Don't have one? Sign up now (it is free). This site helps you organize your credit cards without needing any account numbers, etc.
