Citi is offering its biggest welcome bonus yet on the AAdvantage Executive World Legend Mastercard: 125,000 American Airlines miles. The catch is a substantial spending requirement and a $695 annual fee.
The card also includes Admirals Club membership, airline travel benefits, and a collection of statement credits following its August 2026 refresh.

Card Benefits
AAdvantage Miles Earning
The Executive card earns:
- 12X miles on eligible AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars bookings.
- 4X miles on eligible American Airlines purchases.
- 5X miles on eligible American Airlines purchases after spending $150,000 on the card in a calendar year, for the remainder of that year.
- 1X mile on other eligible purchases.
The card also earns Loyalty Points toward American Airlines elite status. However, bonus-category multipliers and welcome-bonus miles do not translate into equivalent Loyalty Points.
Admirals Club Membership and Airport Benefits
The card's most significant ongoing benefit is a full Admirals Club membership, providing access to eligible American Airlines lounges and participating partner lounges.
Membership includes admission for the primary cardholder and up to two guests or immediate family members, subject to access requirements.
Other benefits include:
- First checked bag free on qualifying domestic American Airlines itineraries for the cardholder and up to eight companions.
- Priority check-in, screening where available, and boarding.
- Admirals Club access privileges for eligible authorized users. Adding up to three authorized users costs $175 annually, with another $175 for each additional user.
Statement Credits and Hotel Benefits
The card has an extensive collection of additional benefits:
- $500 American Airlines Vacations credit: Up to $250 January–June and another $250 July–December on eligible bookings or experiences.
- $100 inflight and Admirals Club credit: Annual statement credits for qualifying purchases.
- $120 Avis/Budget credit: Annual statement credits for eligible prepaid rentals booked directly.
- $180 Lyft credits: A $15 monthly credit after completing three eligible rides that month.
- $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit: Available once every four years.
- Omni Hotels Champion status: Enrollment required, plus an opportunity to earn one Omni Free Night Award annually after a qualifying stay of at least two consecutive nights.
- Avis President's Club status: Complimentary enrollment available through August 31, 2028.
Citi's benefits page also lists up to $200 annually in inKind dining credits, divided into two $100 six-month periods. Check the current terms and participating restaurants before assigning value to this benefit.
The card also includes travel protections such as trip delay, cancellation/interruption, baggage, and rental car coverage, along with no foreign transaction fees.
Additional Loyalty Points
Cardholders can earn 10,000 bonus Loyalty Points at each of four annual status qualification thresholds:
50,000, 90,000, 165,000, and 240,000 Loyalty Points.
That represents up to 40,000 additional Loyalty Points, making the card particularly interesting for frequent American Airlines flyers pursuing elite status.
Welcome Bonus Eligibility
Citi generally excludes applicants who received a new-account bonus on the AAdvantage Executive card within the previous 48 months.
Eligibility may also be affected if another Citi card that earned a new-account bonus within the previous 48 months was converted into an Executive account.
Always review the eligibility language on the final application.
Trash Panda Take
The 125K welcome bonus is compelling, especially for travelers who can redeem AAdvantage miles for premium-cabin flights on American Airlines or partners such as Japan Airlines.
But $695 is a serious annual fee, and the card's value depends heavily on how frequently you use Admirals Club lounges.
The $500 American Airlines Vacations credit sounds attractive, but it shouldn't be treated as cash. You must book eligible packages or experiences, and those bookings may not be the least expensive option.
Likewise, the $15,000 spending requirement is manageable for some households but could make this card less attractive than multiple smaller welcome bonuses.
For someone already paying for Admirals Club membership, this card could be an excellent long-term value. For occasional American Airlines flyers, the first-year bonus may be the main attraction.
If the high annual fee doesn't fit your travel habits, see our Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select 80K Offer & Review for a lower-cost alternative.
Bottom line: The Executive card's 125K offer deserves consideration if you can comfortably meet the spending requirement and get meaningful value from its premium travel benefits. Just don't confuse the potential value of its credits with actual savings.
