State Farm Customers Can Earn Up to $1,500 With a U.S. Bank Business Checking Bonus
State Farm customers can earn up to $1,500 with a new U.S. Bank business checking account. Here's how the Gold and Platinum bonuses work and an important discrepancy to know before applying
If you are a State Farm customer and own a business, U.S. Bank has an unusually generous business checking promotion that could put as much as $1,500 in your pocket.
The offer runs through September 27, 2026, and unlike many checking-account bonuses, there is no direct-deposit requirement. Instead, you need to deposit and maintain a specified amount of new money and complete six qualifying transactions.
Hat tip to Doctor of Credit for finding and reporting this offer. Doctor of Credit originally reported the promotion as offering $1,200 for the Gold account and $1,500 for Platinum.
Important Update: The Gold Bonus Currently Shows $900
Before getting into the details, there is an important discrepancy between the Doctor of Credit report and U.S. Bank's current offer page.
Doctor of Credit lists:
- $1,200 for Gold Business Checking
- $1,500 for Platinum Business Checking
However, as of August 17, 2026, the official U.S. Bank/State Farm application page lists:
- $900 for Gold Business Checking
- $1,500 for Platinum Business Checking
Because the bank's live terms control the promotion, I would assume the $900 Gold bonus unless the application page displays something different when you apply.
The good news is that the $1,500 Platinum offer is clearly documented on the official landing page.
U.S. Bank State Farm Business Checking Bonuses
| Account | Bonus | New Money Required | Balance Period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold Business Checking | $900 | $10,000 | Through Day 60 |
| Platinum Business Checking | $1,500 | $25,000 | Through Day 60 |
Both offers require six qualifying transactions within 60 days of opening the account.
The promotional code is Q3SFC26, although U.S. Bank says the code should automatically be entered when applying through the State Farm promotional page.
Earn $900 With Gold Business Checking
To earn the currently advertised $900 bonus:
- Open a new U.S. Bank Gold Business Checking account online through the State Farm offer.
- Deposit at least $10,000 in new money within 30 days.
- Maintain a daily balance of at least $10,000 through the 60th day after opening.
- Complete at least six qualifying transactions within 60 days.
That's a bonus equal to 9% of the required $10,000 balance, before considering taxes.
For someone who already keeps substantial cash available for business expenses or emergency reserves, that is a very attractive return for moving money temporarily.
Earn $1,500 With Platinum Business Checking
The larger offer requires more cash but pays a substantial $1,500 bonus.
You need to:
- Open a new U.S. Bank Platinum Business Checking account online.
- Deposit at least $25,000 in new money within 30 days.
- Maintain a daily balance of at least $25,000 through the 60th day.
- Complete six qualifying transactions within 60 days.
The $1,500 bonus represents 6% of the required $25,000 balance.
If you have $25,000 sitting in a business checking or savings account earning relatively little interest, temporarily repositioning that money could be worthwhile.
What Counts as a Qualifying Transaction?
This promotion is particularly easy because you don't have to redirect payroll or other direct deposits.
U.S. Bank lists several types of transactions that can count toward the required six transactions, including:
- Debit card purchases
- ACH credits or debits
- Wire credits or debits
- Zelle credits or debits
- U.S. Bank mobile check deposits
- Electronic or paper check debits
- U.S. Bank Bill Pay transactions
- Payments received through U.S. Bank Payment Solutions
Transfers between your own U.S. Bank accounts don't count, and certain person-to-person and credit-card transfers are also excluded.
With 60 days to complete only six transactions, this requirement shouldn't be difficult for most businesses.
What Does U.S. Bank Mean by "New Money"?
The required deposit needs to come from outside U.S. Bank.
You can't simply move $10,000 or $25,000 from another U.S. Bank account into the new business checking account and satisfy the promotion.
U.S. Bank specifically defines new money as funds coming from outside U.S. Bank or its affiliates.
Who Is Eligible?
This particular landing page is part of the State Farm/U.S. Bank banking alliance, and Doctor of Credit reports that the offer is limited to State Farm customers.
There are several other important restrictions.
The terms specify that:
- The account must be opened online through the State Farm/U.S. Bank digital application.
- Promo code Q3SFC26 must be attached to the application.
- There is a limit of one bonus per business.
- A minimum $25 opening deposit is required.
- Businesses that currently have a U.S. Bank business checking account aren't eligible.
- Businesses that closed a U.S. Bank business checking account within the previous 12 months aren't eligible.
- Current U.S. Bank employees aren't eligible.
- The account must remain open with a positive available balance when the bonus is paid.
Doctor of Credit reports that geographic eligibility is generally tied to U.S. Bank's banking footprint, with additional availability possible for customers who already have a qualifying relationship.
When Does the Bonus Pay?
Once you've completed the balance and transaction requirements, don't expect the bonus immediately.
U.S. Bank says the bonus will be deposited within 30 days after the end of the month in which all requirements were satisfied, provided the account remains open and has a positive available balance.
In other words, keep the account open until the bonus actually posts.
Watch the Monthly Fees
The Platinum Business Checking account normally carries a $30 monthly maintenance fee, although it can be waived by meeting certain relationship or balance requirements.
Maintaining the required $25,000 balance during the promotional qualification period should also satisfy the standard $25,000 average collected checking balance requirement for waiving that fee.
The State Farm version of Gold Business Checking is more interesting. U.S. Bank currently states that the $20 monthly maintenance fee is waived for new non-interest-bearing Gold accounts opened on or after February 12, 2026.
Always review the fee schedule presented during your application because account terms can change.
Don't Forget About Taxes
Checking-account bonuses aren't tax-free.
U.S. Bank states that the promotional bonus will be reported as interest on IRS Form 1099-INT, and you're responsible for any applicable taxes.
That doesn't make the promotion unattractive, but the $900 or $1,500 shouldn't be treated as completely tax-free profit.
Is the $1,500 Bonus Worth It?
For someone who qualifies and already has the cash available, the $1,500 Platinum offer is excellent.
You're essentially being paid $1,500 for temporarily parking $25,000 with U.S. Bank, completing six ordinary banking transactions, and keeping track of a few deadlines.
The Gold account may actually provide the better percentage return:
- Gold: $900 ÷ $10,000 = 9%
- Platinum: $1,500 ÷ $25,000 = 6%
So don't automatically assume that putting up another $15,000 for the Platinum account is the best choice.
The incremental decision is particularly interesting: moving from the $900 Gold bonus to the $1,500 Platinum bonus requires another $15,000 but earns only an additional $600.
That's a 4% incremental return on that additional $15,000.
If the Gold bonus really were $1,200 as originally reported by Doctor of Credit, the Gold tier would be dramatically more attractive. That's another reason to carefully check the bonus amount displayed on the U.S. Bank application before opening the account.
Bottom Line
State Farm customers with a legitimate business have access to one of the more compelling business checking bonuses currently available.
The standout is the $1,500 U.S. Bank Platinum Business Checking bonus, which requires $25,000 in new money and six qualifying transactions.
But don't overlook the $900 Gold offer. It requires only $10,000 and provides a higher percentage return on the required balance.
Just remember that there is currently a discrepancy between Doctor of Credit's reported $1,200 Gold bonus and U.S. Bank's live $900 Gold bonus. Trust the terms displayed by U.S. Bank when you actually apply.
The promotion is scheduled to expire September 27, 2026.
