Wyndham’s New 2026 Award Chart Is Live — Hawaii Holds at 30K and Wells Fargo Changes the Math

Wyndham Rewards rolled out its new award structure on September 15, 2026, adding a new 45,000-point premium tier while lowering the cheapest tier from 7,500 to 5,000 points.

That initially looked like bad news for Wyndham Vacation Club properties in Hawaii, especially because many had already jumped from 15,000 to 30,000 points per bedroom per night.

Fortunately, the Hawaii properties I was watching did not take another hit.

Hawaii Vacation Club Resorts Stay at 30K

Wyndham’s published Vacation Club redemption page still lists these 12 Hawaii properties at 30,000 points per bedroom per night:

• Club Wyndham Shearwater
• Club Wyndham Ka ‘Eo Kai
• Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy
• WorldMark Kona
• Club Wyndham Mauna Loa Village
• Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village
• Kona Coast Resort
• Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai
• Club Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk
• Club Wyndham Royal Garden at Waikiki
• Club Wyndham Royal Sea Cliff

That matters because Wyndham’s new terms now allow Vacation Club “Participating Destinations” to cost 5,000, 15,000, 30,000 or 45,000 points per bedroom.

In other words, these resorts could have moved to 45K — but they remain on Wyndham’s published 30K list.

Wyndham also continues to use fixed award pricing rather than dynamic pricing, so the number of points does not automatically rise just because the cash rate is high.

Wells Fargo Makes 30K Awards Much More Attractive

Wells Fargo added Wyndham Rewards as a transfer partner in 2026 at a very favorable rate:

1 Wells Fargo Rewards point = 2 Wyndham Rewards points

That means a standard 30,000-point Wyndham award requires only:

15,000 Wells Fargo points

And that’s before applying a Wyndham credit-card award discount.

Wyndham Card Discounts Change the Math

Wyndham’s updated credit-card lineup now provides different discounts on award stays:

The Business-card distinction is important.

If your Wyndham Earner Business card was opened before June 17, 2026, you remain at the old 10% discount.

Cards opened June 17, 2026 or later receive a 20% discount.

So a one-bedroom Hawaii Vacation Club stay that normally costs 30,000 Wyndham points can effectively cost just 12,000 Wells Fargo points per night with a new Earner Business card.

Four Nights in Hawaii

A four-night stay in a one-bedroom unit normally costs:

120,000 Wyndham points

With the new Business card’s 20% discount:

96,000 Wyndham points

Transferred from Wells Fargo at 1:2, that’s only:

48,000 Wells Fargo Rewards points for four nights

The Premier card’s 25% discount drops the cost to:

90,000 Wyndham points = 45,000 Wells Fargo points

That can be a very good redemption when Hawaii cash rates are high.

The New Wyndham Signup Bonuses Are Less Exciting

The new Wyndham credit-card bonuses look large at first glance, but part of the bonus now requires actual spending at Hotels by Wyndham.

For example, the Earner Business offer can reach 100,000 points, but the structure is:

45,000 points after $3,000 in regular spending

plus

55,000 more points after $500 in Hotels by Wyndham purchases

That second requirement matters.

If you already stay at Wyndham hotels on paid rates, it may be easy to earn.

But if you mainly use Wyndham for Vacation Club awards or points transferred from Wells Fargo, the headline bonus is less impressive.

For many travelers, the ongoing redemption discount may be more valuable than the signup bonus itself.

The Better Strategy May Be Wells Fargo + Wyndham

Instead of putting large amounts of everyday spending on a Wyndham card, a better approach may be:

Earn flexible Wells Fargo Rewards points

then

Transfer to Wyndham at 1:2 only when you find an award you want

and

Use a Wyndham card for the 10%, 20% or 25% redemption discount

That gives you flexibility while still capturing the best parts of Wyndham Rewards.

Bottom Line

Wyndham’s September 15 changes were not the across-the-board devaluation they initially appeared to be.

The new 45K tier creates some risk, but the 12 Hawaii Vacation Club properties already priced at 30K remain on Wyndham’s published 30K list.

More importantly, Wells Fargo’s 1:2 Wyndham transfer ratio combined with Wyndham’s new cardholder award discounts creates a surprisingly strong redemption opportunity.

A 30K Hawaii Vacation Club award can effectively cost as little as:

12,000 Wells Fargo points with a new Earner Business card

or

11,250 Wells Fargo points with the Earner Premier

The Wyndham signup bonuses themselves are only moderately attractive unless you naturally spend money at Wyndham hotels.

But the combination of Wells Fargo transfers + Wyndham card discounts + fixed-price Hawaii Vacation Club awards may be one of the more interesting hotel-point strategies available right now.
